DENVER – The 7/20 Memorial Foundation invites the public to come together for the 2025 Day of Resilience on Saturday, July 26 at the Aurora Municipal Center Great Lawn, located at 15151 East Alameda Parkway. This powerful community event, now in its 10th year, honors those impacted by the Aurora Theater tragedy and celebrates the power of community healing and resilience.

Event Schedule Highlights:

  • 7:30 a.m. – The day begins with music by DJ Sinna-G and a gentle stretching and mindfulness session led by Yoga Six, helping attendees ground themselves in the spirit of community and renewal.

  • 8 a.m. – The Hero’s Journey 5K + Kids Run, led by survivor, former NFL player, and current firefighter Zack Golditch, kicks off the day, symbolizing strength, healing, and forward motion, and is held in partnership with the Aurora Public Schools Foundation to raise funds for the Zack Golditch Opportunity Scholarship (ZGOS).

  • 10:30 to 11 a.m. – Attendees can enjoy yoga in the Reflection Garden and participate in guided garden tours, offering a moment of peace and reflection.

  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Day of Resilience Festival begins, featuring live music, vibrant chalk art murals, wellness booths offering trauma-informed resources, and a selection of food trucks for guests to enjoy.

“This event is about more than remembrance, it’s about creating a space for healing and connection,” said Heather Dearman, CEO of the 7/20 Memorial Foundation. “Together, we honor the past while continuing to build a future rooted in compassion, resilience, and support.”

Founded in the aftermath of the 2012 mass shooting, the 7/20 Memorial Foundation supports survivors and advocates for communities affected by violence. The Day of Resilience brings that mission to life through action, storytelling, and public healing.
