Colorado’s Largest Fashion Event Returns for Fall With Eight Days of Fashion Events From November 11 – 19, 2023
DENVER – Denver Fashion Week (DFW), Colorado’s largest fashion event, is proud to announce its fall lineup featuring six runway shows, the Southwest Hairstyling Awards and a Model Industry Workshop. Coming to York Street Yards in Denver, the highly anticipated event will be held from Saturday, November 11 through Sunday, November 19, 2023. Fall highlights include American luxury fashion house St. John opening DFW – the largest brand to participate in DFW to date, the Sustainable fashion show taking place on National Recycling Day, and seven year-old fashion prodigy Max Alexander presenting his line for the first time at a large-scale fashion event during the Couture fashion show.
“Once again, we’re elevating the experience for Denver Fashion Week with the fall shows,” says the Aharonian Family, founder and producer of DFW. “We’re excited to introduce the longest runway we’ve had since the show began with a completely fresh lighting design at an incredible new venue. We’re also pleased to introduce our new runway producers Nikki Strickler and Hailee Lucchesi and welcome new and returning designers.”
Collections from local, national, and international designers will range from streetwear, activewear, lifestyle, kids, and sustainability to high fashion. During the event, emerging and established local, national, and international designers and boutiques will showcase their collections’ key seasonal styles, enhanced by the work of talented hairstylists, makeup artists and models. Included in the lineup are the winners of DFW’s third annual Emerging Designers Challenge, J. Lin Snyder and OKIME KOLLECTIONS. The nationally acclaimed show takes place twice a year in the spring and fall seasons. As Colorado’s largest fashion event, thousands of fashion lovers attend the shows each year in support of Denver’s growing and diverse fashion community.
Fall 2023 Schedule:
Saturday, Nov. 11 – Ready to Wear by St. John
Opening night kicks off showcasing the latest trends in ready-to-wear fall ’23 fashion, and resort wear ’24 by St. John. This will be a memorable event as this is the largest American luxury fashion house to grace the DFW runway and the Colorado Ballet Academy will provide a special performance during the show.
Sunday, Nov. 12 – Southwest Hairstyling Awards
DFW will partner with The Southwest Hairstyling Awards for a runway show focused on intricate hair designs and the eighth annual Southwest Hairstyling Awards. In addition to live award presentations, see some of the most prominent hairstylists in the world present their collections on the runway.
Monday, Nov. 13 – Fashion Model Industry Workshop
Before the official DFW Spring ’24 model auditions scheduled for Sunday, January 7, 2024, DFW model coordinator and runway producer Nikki Strickler will teach a two-hour workshop focused on the fundamentals of walking the runway. Attendees will learn posture, arm placement, hand positions, step and stride, turns and pivots, poses, backstage etiquette, important tips about the modeling industry, and how to prepare for an audition.
Tuesday, Nov. 14. – Streetwear & Sneakers
From limited edition to trendy streetwear brands, the streetwear show has earned the reputation as a must-attend for fashion enthusiasts and sneakerheads alike. Guests are encouraged to wear their best street-style outfit and sneakers while finding fashion inspiration in unique pieces that will define this season’s streetwear style by The Boogeyman’s Closet, Stoked LA, Azura Trella, RabbitJax Clothing, OKIME KOLLECTIONS, KOJO, and Shadow Angels Clothing.
Wednesday, Nov. 15. – Sustainable
The Sustainable runway show is a core value of DFW and coincides with National Recycling Day for a don’t miss night for sustainability enthusiasts, people curious about living a more eco-conscious fashion lifestyle, and fashionista alike. The showcased brands are committed to sustainability and their impressive line of work will not only decorate the runway but leave attendees inspired. Featured sustainable brands include After Always Apparel, Hoohah, TheDenverGinger, Magg’s Rags, autumn olive crochet, Hyacinth, Reglow, Clay and Create, and Relic.
Thursday, Nov. 16 – Society
From elegant evening gowns to cutting-edge fashion design, the Society runway show promises to be a feast for the eyes. Featured designers include GEO In Style, Savaneli, Kit’s, Jenn Burback, Qi Zhou Design Studio, MadVan Design, MENEZ to Society, Matilda Marginal, Mitosis, and J. Lin Snider. A special runway appearance will be made by Sam, a Make-A-Wish Colorado wish kid who has always dreamed of being in a fashion show.
Saturday, Nov. 18 – Couture
Experience the glamour and sophistication of the fashion world as models strut down the runway in exquisite couture creations from elegant gowns to cutting-edge ensembles. Seven year-old fashion design prodigy Max Alexander will open the evening showing his Couture to the Max designs. DFW is proud to be the first large-scale fashion week event to host the young designer and social media phenomenon who has created custom designs for an international clientele, including a commission from actress Sharon Stone. The night’s impressive line-up of local, national and international couture designers also includes Guillermo Pharis, Sir Algernon, Santiago, Narces, Lisa Marie Couture, Tara Hari Couture, Miss Victoria Regina with MOTWURF, and MOTWURF.
Sunday, Nov. 19 – Kids Fashion Show
This runway show will showcase some of the best children’s fashion in Denver, including Dragonwing Girl, Dream Dance Design, Factory Fashion owned by Denver designer and entrepreneur Skye Barker Maa, and Dragonwing x Katie Andelman; plus a runway dance performance by Cherry Creek Dance.
For the second season in a row, Guided by Humanity is Denver Fashion Week’s nonprofit partner. The Denver-based organization’s mission is dedicated to inclusive and equitable health and wellness services for people living with disabilities, seen and unseen.
