13th Floor Haunted House Opens for the 2024 Season on Saturday, Sept. 7 With new Experiences and Attraction Themes

DENVER — Denver-based Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group announced today that the 13th Floor Haunted House will open for the 2024 season on Saturday, Sept. 7 and will run select nights through Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024. Celebrating 17 years of scares in the Mile High, this season brings terrifying twists and turns, new characters, and new add-on attractions that are sure to thrill. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 21. ENTER IF YOU DARE.

For the first time ever, there will be two separate entrances into the haunt this year – making it a brand new experience for even seasoned haunt-goers. Scare-lovers can also check out all-new add-on experiences, including Mini Escape Games, and My FrightFilm, a new feature allowing guests to relive the screams through strategically placed cameras, as well as two brand-new Secret Bars. Shot Spot Arcade Secret Bar can be found in a seemingly abandoned arcade, where guests will be greeted by the resident demon and offered a refreshing shot of liquid courage before continuing on their journey. The Attic Secret Bar is buried deep inside the 13th Floor, and is a refuge for those clever enough to find it.

A favorite adult attraction, the Shriekeasy Bar (21+), will return with upgraded offerings and new decor. The haunt’s special R.I.P. Cabanas will be available for booking this season with new themes and new decor for a VIP haunt experience.

Scare-lovers will be thrilled to see the return of The Sacred Skull: A Tiki Tarot Experience,’ Class Axe Throwing, Behind-The-Screams tours (offered select Saturdays in October), The Graveyard Shift: Zombie Shooting Gallery, and No Name’s Curtain Chaos.

Those intrigued by the haunt atmosphere, but too afraid of the jump scares, can take advantage of 13th Floor’s Monster Free Hour. During this special hour, guests can walk through the haunted house without the fear of any live actors. Spooky lighting, eerie sounds, and a few unalive monsters will be sure to set the tone. Available on select Sundays in October.

“This year, 13th Floor Denver is showcasing plenty of new additions and updates, from the route to the themes, we think everyone is going to be very excited and we can’t wait to share everything the team has been working on,” said Chris Stafford, CEO & Founding Partner at Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group.

Three new themes inside the haunt will take visitors on a journey through Crimson Night where the Blood Queen has a plan to resurrect her deceased King. The night doesn’t end as guests enter Nautical Nightmare to find Captain Rust Hook and his skeletal crew seizing souls on Halloween when the Blood Moon’s glow thins the veil between worlds. The nightmare continues through a secluded forest with Macabre, where a twisted taxidermist merges human bodies with animal parts. Will they make it out in one piece?

The most terrifying legend lives on in Denver. 13th Floor is Denver’s largest haunted house, named one of the scariest haunted houses in the country. There are three attractions inhabiting the haunt, which include (in more detail):

  • Crimson Night: Sanguis Rex, loyal servant to the Blood Queen, delivered the final vessel of fresh blood, unaware it was part of her plan to resurrect her deceased King, a sorcerer whose return could doom the world. As he prepared to leave, the Queen’s next directive chilled him: procure living flesh to stitch her lover back to life. Bound by allegiance, Rex set out under the Blood Moon, unknowingly bringing the Blood Queen closer to unleashing an ancient evil, the Blood Entity.
  • Nautical Nightmare: Captain Rust Hook, feared scourge of the seas, clawed back from a watery grave with madness driving him. His skeletal crew, cursed to servitude, awaited his command in swirling fog. Driven by vengeance, he prowled coastal villages, seizing souls on Halloween when the Blood Moon’s glow thins the veil between worlds. Rust Hook, now able to recruit the living as his crew, became a harbinger of doom. The chilling legend spread, as terrified whispers told of his return to drag more souls into his ghostly crew.
  • Macabre: In a secluded forest cabin, a twisted taxidermist merges human bodies with animal parts, creating horrifying hybrids that line the walls. Obsessed with his macabre creations, he believes they will come to life under the Blood Moon’s crimson glow. Each night, he feverishly prepares, stitching flesh and fur in anticipation. As the Blood Moon rises, the forest waits to see if his nightmarish dream will become reality.
